Hawgz Bass Series?
Wednesday 01 September 2010 - 19:31:46
As most anglers and fans of the Hawgz Bass Series have noticed, the 2010 events have not gone as planned. This was due to many different reasons. We apologize and hope that you will enjoy the last two events of the 2010 season.
The current director, Joe Winkler, is taking another path for 2011 and creating his own circuit, we wish him luck. With this major change happening the HAWGZ BASS SERIES will look different in 2011.
YES, there will be a Hawgz Bass Series in 2011, and an overhaul of the series has taken place. As of right now, there will be a five tournament schedule, all of which will be held on Iowa lakes. There are also plans of a couple OPEN events, including at least one at Pool 10 of the Mississippi River.
So, please stay tuned to this site in the fall and winter for more exciting details!
Post front, Pre front, And the lake just being treated with chemicals made the fish run and hide! And did I mention the fog? It was the thickest I've ever seen and didn't lift till 8:00am to clear into a very hot sunny day on the water. And West Lake turned over some of the best quality fish of the year and a Great Tournament for most teams.
5th place today Fresh off the river series was Bob Booth & Dave Custer with a wt. of 6.52 .Big Bass of the day and a great return to Hawgz Bass Series was Thayer & Thayer with a 4.80 Keeper and a total wt. of 6.84 good enough for 4th place finish, 3rd place today was team Cory Fisher & Chris Mayland with a wt.of 8.84. 2nd place today was Joe Winkler & Andy Summerfelt with a wt. of 9.06 and a big bass of over 5 lb that was for not as Andy forgot to put us in big bass pot! But the (SHOW OF THE DAY) was Pat Tran & Kreifels with a winning wt. of 9.98. Super day on the water Pat! Next Hawgz Tournament will be at 12 mile lake August 21 st.
After a night of thunder storms in the Brushy area the outlook didn't look good for the creels for the teams, with 16 teams attending the ease off at 5:30am and the calm winds the teams filed out for a hot day of tournament fishing. And what a day they had! The fish were hitting early for most and the teams were hooking up with some real beauty's.
What a shake- up in the points chase, with the absent Johnson&Ingersoll and with a solid 5 fish limit Team Liebrand & Liebrand hopped over the Hatland & Hatland team for the first spot in the standings. But the teams of the day were Peart & Jordan with their 3rd place finish bumps this team into the top 20, And old steady team Thompson & Humm Finished 2nd place and boost's them in a solid 6th spot, but the team of the day with a run from 22 spot up to 17th in the points were Kulow & Sunken with a 16+ bag and Big Bass for the win in this tournament. Great job Everyone! The next tournament is at West Lake Osceola, don't miss this one!
